OUR FRIEND COLE WESTON
Cole Weston, who was part of a dynasty of internationally known California photographers, died Sunday April 20, 2003 at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. He was born Jan. 30, 1919, in Los Angeles and was 84.
We were fortunate to attend one of Cole's workshops in October 2000. It was a pleasure to meet this wonderfully warm and friendly man and to learn of his life and years of being one of the members of the world's most respected photographic families. If you like, please stop by our snapshot album of the workshop. . . click here.
Our heart felt sympathy goes out to Cole's family and friends. . . and a special thought to our dear friends Kim and Gina. To View more Weston family history, drop by Kim Weston's website by clicking here.

Fred Picker dies at age 75. . .
The fine art photographic community has lost another supporter with the death, April 3, 2002, of Fred Picker. Whether you were a fan of Fred, or not, we have all lost a friend and supporter of the photographic arts. No one can deny that Fred has touched many photographers lives with the creation of Zone VI Studios. . . his prolific and controversial writings. . . and his award winning videos. . . all dedicated to the art of photography. . .
Although I never met the man, I feel his teachings on photographic excellence helped point me in the right direction. . . I always wanted to attend one of his workshops, but never made it. . . all I can do is say;
Thanks Fred for sharing your wisdom. . .
